Anti-Discrimination & Racism Committee - STATEMENT

Due to circumstances beyond our control, for example a consistent lack of quorum and public interest, there was a decision made by the Town Council to discontinue the Anti-Discrimination & Racism Committee. The Economic Development Committee, another committee of Council, was also discontinued for similar reasons. Town Council recognizes and thanks those community members who did participate in the Committee. Town Council continues to support anti-discrimination and racism initiatives in the community.

Several resources exist for community members including the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission (www.humanrights.gov.ns.ca) and for more information on other available resources please see the Shelburne County Helping Tree for direction which is located under Living in Shelburne on the website.
