Shelburne Town Council has approved the use of the provincial list of electors for the 2020 municipal and CSAP Board elections.  As in previous elections, there will be a revision period for which residents of Shelburne can contact the Returning Officer or the Revising Officer to inquire as to his/her/their information on the list.  Due to privacy concerns and the Freedom of Information & Protection of Privacy Act, the list of electors is no longer viewable by the general public.  A notice is scheduled to be placed in the Chronicle Herald on July 25, August 1, eluding to "checking the list".  Revisions to the Preliminary List are to be received by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2020.  This deadline is to ensure that we have a List of Electors (Preliminary with changes) that is as accurate as possible as this is the list that is used to generate the PIN letters (personal identification number) for voting and mailed via Canada Post in mid September for use during the voting period of October 8, 2020 (8:00 a.m. start) to October 17, 2020 (7:00 p.m. end).  Note: If after the list is revised and you contact the Returning Officer of a change, the change may not make the "official" mailing of the voter letter but the Returning Officer will ensure that your information is updated and a voter PIN letter is provided to you in time to vote.
Please contact the Returning Officer or Assistant Returning Officer if you have any concern about your information on the list.  Please do not automatically assume you are on the list and that the information is correct.
